In a quiet rural village, a mother caught in the grip of severe drug addiction gave birth to her second child. Living in deep poverty without electricity or basic necessities, she faced the overwhelming pressure of attempting to care for a newborn on her own—while her older child was already being raised by a relative.
Local government social workers had initially hoped the mother might be able to manage with village support. However, when officials visited the home on the child’s ninth day of life, they discovered a desperate, unsafe situation. Recognizing the extreme vulnerability of the newborn, the village head immediately reached out to our ministry team for help.
Stepping In with Compassion and Truth
Responding right away, our team met at the home alongside the village leader, local doctors, nurses, social workers, and women from the community—18 people in total gathered around a nine-day-old infant in critical need.
Navigating such moments requires delicate legal care, truth, and Christ-like empathy. Our team coordinated directly with an accredited Christian adoption and child protection ministry to clearly explain every step of the legal relinquishment process to the mother.
While it was a heavy and sorrowful moment to witness, our team was able to speak words of comfort to the mother—reassuring her that her baby was deeply loved by God and would be safely nurtured, protected, and cared for in a secure environment until a permanent, loving home could be found through adoption.
Celebrating a Second Chance
God’s protective hand over this precious life has been evident every step of the way over the past year:
- Immediate Safety & Healthcare: The infant was safely transitioned out of hardship into a nurturing environment with complete medical and nutritional care.
- Official Eligibility for Adoption: We recently received official notification that the child has completed all legal requirements and is fully eligible for adoption into a permanent, loving family.
- Thriving in Grace: From a fragile nine-day-old baby in a darkened room, she has grown into a healthy, energetic child who just celebrated her very first birthday!
What began in deep crisis has been transformed by God’s redeeming grace into a story of life, safety, and an bright future ahead.
