“Students putting their faith in Jesus is why TawSaeng exists—seeing young lives transformed, anchored in Scripture, and mobilized to serve others.”

For youth growing up in low-income families in Northern Thailand, economic hardship can create severe obstacles to finishing school and finding a hopeful path forward. The TawSaeng Project exists to bridge that gap—providing critical educational assistance, tutoring, and a safe, Christ-centered community where young people can thrive academically and spiritually.
While helping students succeed in school is vital, our deepest joy is watching them discover their true identity in Christ and step into lives of servant leadership.
From Educational Support to Public Faith
When students first arrive at TawSaeng, they receive practical help with school supplies and academic support. Over time, as they participate in daily devotions, worship, and fellowship, the love of God takes deep root in their hearts.
Three long-term students—Kwan*, Nat*, and Ploy*—came from underprivileged homes and received educational sponsorship through TawSaeng for several years. Through faithful mentorship, all three not only surrendered their lives to Jesus, but last year made the courageous decision to be publicly baptized!
Today, their lives reflect the enduring fruit of discipleship:
- Academic Excellence: Kwan and Nat completed their advanced high school certifications, opening doors for higher education and vocational stability.
- Workplace Integrity: Ploy completed university coursework and is now thriving in full-time employment, exemplifying Christian character and diligence in her work.
- Ongoing Growth: All three continue to walk closely with the TawSaeng family, mentoring younger students and growing in their faith.
Mobilizing Youth to Serve: Encouraging Isolated Pastors
True discipleship naturally overflows into mission. Across the region, many rural and migrant pastors carry heavy burdens while serving on the front lines of deep community need. Leaders like Pastor Sai*—a migrant pastor who has served displaced Myanmar refugee families and runs a children’s home near the border for over twenty years—often feel under-resourced and isolated.
Recognizing the heavy load these shepherds bear, TawSaeng began mobilizing our older students to come alongside local leaders—not just to offer relief, but to build mutual encouragement.
Over the past year, TawSaeng organized multiple outreach trips, bringing staff, volunteers, and students to serve alongside Pastor Sai’s ministry:
- Holistic Community Care: TawSaeng students led interactive English classes, Bible lessons, life-skills workshops, and sports activities for displaced children, while distributing essential groceries and educational supplies to vulnerable families.
- Encouraging the Shepherd: Outreach teams provided prayer, fellowship, and practical resources to refresh Pastor Sai and his local team, assuring them that they do not serve alone.
- Youth Empowerment: Serving on the front lines shifted our students’ mindsets from receivers of care to active givers of hope.
Reflecting on these outreach trips, one TawSaeng student shared with a beam: “This is my favorite community to serve because the children appreciate us so deeply, participate in every activity with joy, and show us so much love.”
A Cycle of Grace
From a young student receiving a school uniform to that same student leading worship for refugee children in a remote village, God is using TawSaeng to build a generation of resilient, compassionate leaders. When youth are anchored in the Gospel, their transformation creates ripple effects that bring hope to communities far beyond our walls.
