“I wish I had met El-Roi FamilyCARE when my daughter was younger… but it’s never too late to build trust. I’m starting now.”

Every day, a brave single mother worked long hours in the fields, bearing a heavy load that stretched far beyond her own needs. In addition to caring for her 11-year-old daughter, she was the sole provider for her elderly mother and two younger siblings who were still in school.

With multiple generations depending on her farm wages, the financial future felt uncertain. But even heavier than the financial strain was the anxiety in her heart as her daughter entered her pre-teen years. Surrounded by the world’s temptations, peer pressure, and safety concerns, she worried constantly about how to guide her daughter through the challenges ahead.

A Turning Point with El-Roi FamilyCARE

Hope began to take root when she joined the Safe Secure Families Programme (SSFP), a ministry initiative of El-Roi FamilyCARE.

Through SSFP, she found a supportive Christian community, biblical parenting resources, and practical tools designed to strengthen family bonds:

  • Family Day Outings: Special events provided intentional, uninterrupted time to reconnect and laugh with her daughter away from daily pressures.
  • Biblical Parenting Workshops: Practical sessions opened her eyes to the power of gentle communication, active listening, and heart-level encouragement.
  • Spiritual Encouragement: Mentors walked alongside her, reminding her that she was not carrying her family’s burdens alone.

A Foundation of Love and Faith

Today, her home is being transformed from a place of constant anxiety to an anchor of trust and spiritual growth. Instead of letting busyness pull them apart, she actively chooses to invest quality time in her daughter’s life.

Her household is now defined by newfound hope:

  • Deepened Trust: Shifting from fear-based worry to open, loving communication.
  • Active Listening: Creating a safe space where her pre-teen daughter feels heard, valued, and guided.
  • A Faith-Filled Home: Laying a lasting foundation of faith, prayer, and unconditional love that will carry her daughter into the future.

This is why we walk alongside families—because when a mother is encouraged and equipped in Christ, an entire family is lifted up.
