From Darkness to Hope: A Community Transformed by Grace

“She thought all hope was lost after years of suffering. Then, the love of Jesus arrived right at her doorstep.”

A few years ago, a local partner church reached out asking for financial partnership. They felt called by God to teach their members how to disciple their neighbors and reach out to the surrounding community.

What started as a small outreach—providing essential food supplies and adult diapers to a few struggling families—quickly grew into regular home visits focused on building relationships, sharing the Gospel, and praying for those in need.

Seeing Jesus at Work in the Community

Over time, the faithful visits of the church team began to bear rich spiritual fruit. The genuine love shown by the believers sparked a reaction across the entire neighborhood. Surrounding families started requesting prayer visits in their own homes. Whenever the team gathered to pray with a family, neighbors would join in, drawn by a desire to learn about Jesus.

In 2025 alone, the spiritual impact expanded significantly:

  • 34 Baptisms: Thirty-four people gave their lives to Christ and were baptized over the course of the year.
  • Reaching the Elderly and Disabled: Many of those who were baptized are elderly or living with physical disabilities—individuals who would not have heard the name of Jesus any other way.
  • Spiritual Awakening: A modest relief effort turned into an active discipled movement across the area.

A House Transformed: Malee’s Story

Among the many lives touched, one testimony shared by the outreach team shows the power of Christ reaching into places of spiritual and physical bondage.

Malee lives with her elderly father and her grown son, who has been blind since infancy due to an untreated complication during birth. For years, hardship and suffering hung over their home. Malee suffered from a severe medical disease and had received medical treatment in the past, including injections that ultimately caused one of her legs to shrink. Today, one leg is shorter than the other, leaving her in constant weakness and severe pain, unable to walk properly.

Desperate for healing and relief from family misfortune, Malee had previously served as a spirit medium, inviting spirits into her life. Neighbors noted that this spiritual bondage only brought greater hardship to her family. At one point, she was advised to purchase two Buddha images worth a life savings to receive physical healing, but the expense brought zero relief, leaving her family feeling hopelessly trapped and broke.

Seeing their desperation, believers in the community introduced the outreach team to Malee and her father.

A week before the scheduled visit, a team member gave Malee a a simple Gospel booklet discussing freedom from spiritual bondage and true healing. Early on the morning the team was set to visit, Malee heard an audible voice calling out to her: “Malee, where are you?”

She woke up and walked outside thinking her father was calling her, but he had not called. Instead, she saw a figure standing before her in a white and gray robe, exactly like the image of Jesus portrayed in the Solve Karma tract she had received days before. Rather than feeling afraid, peace filled her heart. Recognizing Him as Jesus Christ, she bowed her hands in a wai and prayed directly to Him to protect and heal her.

Walking Forward in Faith

When the church team arrived at her home later that day, they found a woman whose heart had already been prepared by God. They prayed over Malee and her family, sharing the love of Christ and connecting them to a caring body of believers.

Today, Malee, her elderly father, and her son are no longer facing their burdens alone or seeking help from deceptive spirits. Through the local church’s persistent home visits, gospel witness, and faithful prayer, their household has been brought into the light of Jesus.

Stand with Families Like Malee’s

Transformations like these happen when local churches are equipped to step out and bring the light of the Gospel to their neighbors. Please join us in praying for Malee, her father, and her son as they grow in their faith!
